Fall and winter dressing is typically focused on practicality to deal with the lowering temps and potentially icy conditions. But whether you are shoveling snow in the north or barely catching a flurry in the south, I would argue that everyone should partake in winter's favorite shoe: Boots!
This week I am listing my favorite selections for this season’s most fabulous boots. Now, those of you who do experience a real winter won’t have to sacrifice your style, and the rest of us can be prepared just in case we do see a little snow. ;)
SUEDE ANKLE BOOTS
My everyday wardrobe during the colder months is quite an easy formula: jeans or leggings, an oversized sweater, booties, and some fab accessories. When pairing an ankle boot with jeans or leggings I prefer a light-colored suede shoe, especially when wearing all black. Booties are comfy and not too formal (or too warm!), and they are perfect for running errands or grabbing a quick coffee with friends. Caitlin's casual look is equally chic and easy for just about anyone to pull off.

OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS
I remember feeling a bit skeptical of my first purchase of OTN boots about a year ago, and now they are everywhere! What used to be exclusive to high-end brands can now be found at stores like Target or Zara. Don't be intimidated by these beauties. The easiest way to style them is with a super tight pair of skinny jeans or leggings and a long shirt or sweater. I believe a high-quality pair of over-the-knee boots is absolutely worth the investment. Just take a look at Alicia's paired with her printed mini dress. I love the juxtaposition of pairing tall boots with a short, sexy dress!

STATEMENT BOOTS
Every woman needs a pair of statement boots in her closet. This time of year is characterized by darker hues, so sometimes you just need funky shoes to complete your look. I am loving orange this season, and a great way to add some pop to your outfit is with orange boots. Kristin's definitely make a statement. They are the perfect proportion and while the open toe is not quite functional for those of you expecting snow, they are quite perfect for those of us still experiencing fluctuations between cold and warm weather.

BLACK BOOTS
These are a given that I could not leave off of my list. I mean what is more functional and fashionable than the perfect pair of black boots?! I have already been living in my Stella McCartney’s, and I am eyeing a few others in varying heel heights so I can grab them for any occasion. Black booties, a poncho and some faux-leather leggings create an instant look that will leave you feeling comfortable and fabulous. Stephanie's outfit is head-to-toe perfect for cozying up this winter.

I said it before and I'll say it again: a good pair of boots is absolutely worth the investment, especially leather boots that will not only last you years but also get comfier with time.
